National Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration
Join us as we come together to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day with cultural teachings, performances, food, artisans, and family-friendly activities.
This community event is an opportunity to honour Indigenous culture, history, knowledge, and traditions while celebrating together in Tumbler Ridge.
Schedule of Events
10:00 AM – 10:30 AM | Opening Ceremony
We will begin the day with a traditional land acknowledgment, welcome speeches from Indigenous elders and community leaders, followed by a smudging ceremony and drumming performance.
10:30 AM – 12:00 PM | Cultural Performances
10:30 AM – 11:00 AM | Hoop Dancer Presentation
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Singing and Drumming with Coline Casey
12:00 PM – 1:30 PM | Lunch, Games & Activities
Enjoy lunch from multiple Bannock Food Trucks, browse items from Indigenous artisans, and take part in games and activities throughout the lunch break.
