Join Us for the Final Tumbler Ridge Bike Bus Ride Celebration!

The Tumbler Ridge Bike Bus is gearing up for its final ride of the season, and we are inviting the entire community to help make it a celebration to remember!

On Thursday, June 25, riders will embark on the last Bike Bus journey of an incredible first season. To mark the occasion, we are putting out a community-wide call for businesses, organizations, first responders, elected officials, sponsors, and residents to join us in creating a memorable send-off for our young cyclists.

Our goal is simple: turn the Bike Bus route into a celebration of community spirit, youth, and active transportation.

How You Can Help Celebrate

The Bike Bus route will be active from 8:00 a.m. to 8:40 a.m., and there are plenty of fun ways to get involved:

• Gather staff outside to cheer as riders pass by

• Set up sprinklers, bubble machines, or sidewalk chalk messages

• Play music along the route

• Wave signs and banners of encouragement

• Ring bells, clap, and create a festive atmosphere

• Have emergency vehicles or service vehicles join as escorts

• Join the ride on your own bike

Even spending just a few minutes outside cheering can make a huge impact on our young riders and help them feel celebrated by the entire community.

Celebrating an Incredible First Season

The inaugural season of the Tumbler Ridge Bike Bus has been a tremendous success. Our largest ride welcomed 37 children and adults riding together, and we consistently saw at least 15 participants join each morning.

Throughout the season, riders developed valuable bike safety knowledge, improved their cycling skills, and stayed active while commuting together. Despite the unpredictable spring weather in Northern BC, only two rides were cancelled due to rain.

Thanks to the support of our community and partners, we were also able to provide more than 40 helmets to families in need, helping ensure local children can ride safely and confidently.

The Bike Bus has become more than just a ride to school—it has become a symbol of community connection, healthy living, and youth empowerment. As we celebrate the end of this successful first season, we hope you'll join us in showing our riders how proud we are of their accomplishments.
