    Hiking

Explore tantalizing remnants of the Monkman era on a fascinating trip back in time. Begin at the access road sign, a few hundred meters from the forest recreation site, and follow the old route down to the water. Crossing the creek, which is dammed by beavers, is more challenging now than in the 1930s, but the trail continues on the other side, and visitors can swim across or reach the point by boat or canoe.

Dates of Operation

While the Stony Lake Recreation Site is open year-round, the access road may not be plowed in the winter. Check with the Visitor Centre for the latest road conditions.
