Celebrating 25 Years of the Emperor’s Challenge

This year marks a remarkable milestone for the Emperor’s Challenge, 25 years of adventure, determination, and community spirit. It’s not just a celebration of one of BC’s most iconic mountain races; it’s a tribute to the legacy built by the Wolverine Nordic and Mountain Society (WNMS) and everyone who has been part of the journey.

To honour this occasion, we’re inviting the entire community to The Emperor’s Village, a special post-race celebration at the Tumbler Ridge Fairgrounds on Saturday, August 9.

• 🎶 Afternoon DJ music

• 🎸 Live music from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM

• 🍔 Food vendors: Twisted Season’s Bistro & NorthStar Kitchen

• 🍻 Beer garden hosted by the TR Days Society

• 🖼️ Memory Wall showcasing race history and photos

• 📸 Photo station, kids’ zone, and themed activities

• 🏅 Awards ceremony and volunteer recognition

This year’s race is especially significant—it will be the final run of the current route on Mount Babcock.

Since its beginning, the Emperor’s Challenge has represented more than just a race. It’s a celebration of our wild terrain, our resilient community, and the volunteers who have made it all possible. From humble beginnings, it has grown into a signature event that draws runners and hikers from across the province and beyond.
