IT SNOWED!!!

(And there was much rejoicing).

Yes, the Wolverine Nordic and Mountain Society trails at the golf course are now groomed. There is still a layer of ice just under the snow that makes some of the hilly sections difficult, but these are the best conditions so far this year.

The trail up Flatbed Creek to the falls is well established (just some flooding to avoid in the very first part) and the Bridge-to-Bridge route is also open. These trails are only safe when temperatures are cold, and please stay on the established trail (which intentionally avoids hazardous areas).

Snowmobiling

IT SNOWED!

Intensely cold weather last week meant not a lot of people were out riding, but new snow and warmer temps on the weekend made for vastly improved riding. While people trying some of the more obscure routes (Tentfire creek) are encountering poor conditions and open water along drainages, there is still good sledding to be found around the Core Lodge and Wolverine areas. Here’s a funny little video shot up at the Super Bowl (Core Lodge area) before the new snow.  http://youtu.be/aZGX9pbLh7k

As always, check the Avalanche report before you head out.
